Back to the base today for the Pass and Review. The first photos were items around the perimeter of the review field on the base. Back at the bleachers, I managed to get some good pictures of the flag with all the ribbons, though this one was for the 1st brigade and Dave was in the 2nd. Got that flag later.
Starting with picture 89, the vets are first to “pass and review”. Dave is all the way to the left in the next picture. He chose to walk it instead of using his scooter but his hip wished he hadn’t. It wasn’t just the walk across the field, it was standing for an hour before they started.
Pictures 110-113 is where I got the 2nd brigade flag, then a couple where I draped the flag cover over Dave, sash style.
We missed the awards ceremony due to a tour of the JOC (Joint Operations Center). No pictures allowed inside that other than the lobby (pic #s 116-119). By the time we came out, the paratroopers were seen again, though we couldn’t see the ceremony or the field where it was held.
At the BBQ location at Iron Hose Park, the first thing we saw was the Department of Emergency Services van (pic #s 129-139) and since we are “into” emergency services as ham radio operators, we asked to see inside., then continued with exploring the BBQ.
Dave’s set of pics start with #147 which were taken in the morning before going to Ft Carson.
