Elisha Ferrell's Barn in Wright County MN
Correspondant/cousin Charles Pain visited Wright County in May and June of 2005 and took some pictures. (2017 - I no longer have current contact info)

May trip:
Photo 121 - looking south from intersection of Rt 25 and the main road Hwy 12 running
east/west. Elisha's farm is on the right side of Rt 25 beyond the last clump
of trees in the distance.

Photo 006 - is this site of Elisha's house? (KRB note: the little square structure to
the left of the house is the pumphouse that Elisha's son built and carved
his initials. Can't remember the year, but it was while Elisha was still living.)

June trip:
I (Charles) went back to the Elisha Ferrell homestead. The present owner Cynthia
Wright said that the barn (#051, 060, 067)
was on the verge of collapse and that she was going to have the fire department
burn it down this summer. I think these photos are better than the previous.

email address. I took some photos inside the barn (#054, 055, 056, 058, 059).
A swarm of bats finally forced me out.
In the photo of the house (#062)
the small structure to the left is the pumphouse (#065).
The owner said the pump was replaced by a rain cistern many years ago. To
the left of the pumphouse is the chicken coop (#063);
the owner said that in the field in back of that they found what looked like
a stone foundation for the original log cabin.
Also included are photos of the James Hays farm in the northwest corner of Franklin Twp. The farmhouse faces west across what was called the Great Marsh. (#035). Elisha Ferrell and Ezra Stacy's land was right on the other side of the marsh in Woodland Township. The Hayes farmhouse on road going south.(#040, 044).
I told Cynthia Wright to let me know when she plans to burn down the barn. I might go out there for that. (2017 - she was never in contact, so I have no idea if it's still standing or not)
