I Hosea Wright of the County of Putnam and State of Indiana do publish this my last will and testament. 1st I direct that my body decently interred and that my funeral shall be conducted without any pomp, parade, or show, and that 2ndly I direct that all my just debts be paid by my executor out of the first monies that shall come to the ands of my executors after my decease, and for the purpose of raising a family therefore I direct that my executor shall make sale of a portion of my personal estate, I further bequest to my wife Susan Wright all my personal and real estate to be hers essentially and forever requiring of her that with these monies shall raise, maintain, and educate our children and when anyone of them shall come of age if she can spare anything to help each one to set up in the world that she shall do so. And at her decease she shall make an equal distribution of what shall still remain of my estate the same being equally divided among our children share and share alike. I further direct that if my wife thinks she can do better and advance the interest of our children by the same she shall sell out my real estate and invest the monies arising from there from on in the west requiring of her as before that she ultimately when she shall decease make such a distribution among our children as will make them equal. I do hereby appoint my wife and my son Thomas J. Wright only executor and executrix of this my last will and testament. Upon which said will the following proof is endorsed to wit: State of Indiana Putnam County,------ Before one Jacob McGinnis Clerk of the Probate Court of said county on this 16th day of October 1852 personally appeared, John Cowgill, one of the subscribing witnesses to the within, instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Hose [sic] Wright late of said county deceased who being one duly sworn upon his oath deposes and says that the within last will was duly executed by said testator, that at the time of executing the same, the said testator was of sound mind and memory and not under any coercion or restraint whatever and of full age to devise his properties that he said testator subscribed his name thereto in the presence of the deponent and H.E. Cowgill the other subscribing witness and declared to be his last will and testament and that this deponent and the said H.E. Cowgill subscribed their names as witnesses hereto in the presence of said testator and in the presence of each other. John Cowgill subscribed and sworn to before me, the date above, Jacob McGinnis Clerk. Witness my hand and the seal of said court hereto affixed at Greencastle this 16th day of October 1852, Jacob McGinnis Clerk. I Jacob McGinnis Clerk of the Probate Court of said county do hereby certify that the foregoing is a full and true and complete record of the last will and testament of Hosa [sic] Wright late of said county, deceased, and of the proxy and examination of John Cowgill and one of the witnesses thereto by whom the same was proven witness my hand this 16th day of October 1852.
