Religion 1813 George Lewis Coffinberry II; St John's Lutheran Church, Martinsville, Berkeley Co., West Virginia, There are 3 "George Coffenberger" names listed, as well as William, and Susannah. Since the immigrant died in Feb 1813, the only way one could be him is if the list was made in Jan. Another could be George Jr's son since he is 18. Or it could be the son of William who's father is unknown at this time2

CAUTION It is interesting that in her father's will it says "except the part bequeathed Sarah McCaslin her equal part is to be put to interest by my executors and she is only to receive the legal interest thereof during her life & at her death it is to be equally divided between all her living children." Why is that? Was she or her husband not to be trusted with money? What kind of reason would there be that she was only to get the interest of her inheritance. She's obviously living, since it says "at her death', so it's not like the share is for her kids. This is an interesting situation.

Census1840 1840 Ohio Co., West Virginia, Not found with surname Harvey as would be expected. There is a Catherine Young in this census 1f 60-70 nobody else in household. Since she's married to Benjamin at this point, it's odd that she would be listed under Young, unless there is another one.

> There's a Curtis family mentioned in the HISTORY OF WHEELING AND OHIO COUNTY, by Cranmer, that you may want to look into. A James Curtis lived about 2 miles east of West Liberty in the late 1700s, and had a family of 10 children, several of whose marriages are listed in the courthouse records, as is your Susannah Curtis and Wm. Pharroz.....one of James' daughters was a Susan, which could be Susannah.... a son, Salathiel, was an early lawyer who practiced there in western VA....

I missed the original message...I need to pay better attention :)
William "Pharroz" was actually William Faris. And yes, Susannah was the daughter of James Curtis and Elizabeth Coffenberry (or Coffinberry, which was probably originally spelled something like Kaufenberger). Below is an out line of their family. Susannah and William Faris were my 4th g-grandparents! I would love to share more info.
