Birth*12 May 1850 Wesley Hiram "Wes" Searcy was born on 12 May 1850 at Ellijay, Gilmer Co., Georgia, per parents 1852 Bible which says H W Searcey. Food for thought: his grandfather is said to be Hiram Wesley Searcy and possibly is the reason that this Hiram Wesley decided to go by Wesley Hiram.1,2

(Witness) Negative1860  Family not found in the 1860 census. One son's obit says they moved from Georgia to Arkansas in the fall of 1959, which is born out by 1859 birth of child in GA and child born in 1863 in AR in 1860.

Obituary12 May 1920 His obituary: on 12 May 1920 at Fayetteville Democrat, Washington Co., Arkansas, W H SEARCY DIES AT HOME IN SPRINGDALE
Wesley Hiram Searcy, aged 70 years, died at his home in Springdale last evening and was buried this afternoon at 3 o'clock from First Baptist Church, Rev. W. R. Chandler of Springdale, assisted by Rev. Tom McSpadden of Rogers, officiating.
     According to report immediate death was due to the drinking either by mistake or otherwise a small quantity of carbolic acid. The deceased had been in ill health for some time.
     He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Ray Turpen and Miss Franky Searcy, all of Springdale and by two sons, Lockwood Searcy of Rogers and Lawrence Searcy, who is a student in the Fayetteville Business College. Both sons left for their father's bedside following notice of his critical condition.
     Mr. Searcy is a pioneer of Washington county having resided in this section for more than half a century. He was connected with the mercantile establishment, Clarkson & Searcy, of Springdale.
