Death*28 June 1894 He died on 28 June 1894 at Walla Walla, Walla Walla, Washington, at age 46 per parents 1852 Bible and per “Washington Deaths, 1891-1907” register book microfilm at Washington State Archives, Olympia, Washington “ Lee SEARCY, male, Canadian, Birth about 1851 Death Date: 28 June 1894; Age at Death: 43 years; County of Death Registration: Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington. (note: matches place name found in his parents Bible). Discrepancy1: Findagrave shows 24 Aug 1894. Discrepancy2: An old tablet size lined brown sheet of paper found in steam ship like trunk at the Searcy home of Lee’s brother, “Will” has written on it “Lee Searcy born 8 July 1847. Family all dead. Died 29 June 1894.” Discrepancy3: another source says he died at Bingham, Warm Springs. WA. There is listed in the “Handy Book” for Bingham, Warm Springs, between Harney and Malheur counties, located in the lower eastern part of Oregon. Harney was created 25 Feb 1889. Malheur was created 17 Feb 1887. Kathryn's note: there is a place called Bingham Springs in Oregon (Umatilla Co.) that the Indians called Warm Springs. That is more likely what is meant as it's not that far from Walla Walla WA (where his parents Bible says he died). There was a stage line that stretched from Walla Walla over the Blue Mountains to the Grande Ronde Valley at Summerville, OR. It is conceivable that he "resided" in Walla Walla, and was on a trip along the stage route when he died.1

Burial* He was buried at Eugene Pioneer Cemetery, Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon, From interviews of Lee’s living relatives – I was told that when the (Searcy) parents heard of Lee’s dying, they sent the brothers – “Wes” and “Will” to the north west to bury the family together.2,1
