(Grantor) Deed30 May 1816 He sold land on 30 May 1816 at Frederick Co., Virginia: James, Sarah, Stephen and Thomas Kile sell lands on the drains of Back Creek to Moses Newbank. (This is land from their father's estate) Book 39, pg 237 (SLC 31388)
This indenture the thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen between Francis Kile, Sarah Kile, and Stephen Kile & Thomas Kile of the one part and Moses Newbank of the other part, all of the county of Frederick and Commonwealth of Virginia. Whereas James Kile desc late of said county did by his last will and testament duly proved an recorded in the said county court of Frederick, will and devise to his several children a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Frederick and adjoining the lands of George Smith, Christian Schrach and others & being the same whereon the said Moses Newbanks how lives, together with another small tract near the same and adjoining said George Smith and Sampson SMith [___] and containing about fourteen acres more or less all of which said James Kile is seized. Now this indenture witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred twenty six dollars to the said [the siblings named again] ... more legal stuff. Recorded 6 Jan 1817.
No indication that any of them are residing in another county, or that they have spouses that need to sign. 
Census1820*1820 He was the head of the household in the 1820 census, pg 74, Eastern Division, Monongalia Co., West Virginia, with 1m10-16 (John) 1m26-45 (James) 4f0-10 (Celia, Nancy, and two ?) 1f10-16 (Mary) 1f16-26 (?) 1f 26-45 (Sarah). 
Census1830*1830 He was the head of the household in the 1830 census, pg 355, Monongalia Co., West Virginia, with 1m45-50 (James) 1f0-5 (Sophia) 2f5-10 (Mariah & ?), 2f10-15 (Celia & ?), 1f15-20 (?), 1f40-50 (Sarah). 
Census1850*1850 He appeared on the 1850 census as the head of household, pg 283 #885-886, Eastern District #36, Monongalia Co., West Virginia, along with Sarah Jenkins, Celia Kile, Sophia Kile and Thornton Weaver . His info on the census included Kile, James 65 b.VA shoemaker (also unaccounted for in household are Isaac Kile 5 b.VA and John H Kile 2 b.VA - probably grandchildren. Grandson Thornton Weaver also with family. Are they staying there because the daughter of James & Sarah, Mary Kile Weaver, had just died? 
Census1860*1860 James (#3) Kile appeared on the 1860 census as the head of household, an unknown place . His info on the census included Not found - even taking names of neighbors from 1850, and couldn't find them either. Maybe census taker missed that section??? Kathryn Bassett also searched Heritage Quest Online for all 80-90 year olds in Monongalia Co and nothing even close to the Kile name showed up.1 
Death*3 July 1863 He died on 3 July 1863 at Laurel Iron Works, Cheat Neck, Monongalia Co., West Virginia, at age 86 Grandson says James was physician died 1866 at 83 at Laurel Iron Works WV (Tetrick papers SLC 163861). Full date from tombstone, which says age 86y 7m 23d.2 
Burial* He was buried at Zion Meth Cemetery-Jenkins Plot, Cheat Neck, Monongalia Co., West Virginia.
