Jeanne-Jane Law
F, #6212, b. 4 January 1795, d. 12 December 1876
Birth* | 4 January 1795 | Jeanne-Jane Law was born on 4 January 1795 at Wheeling, Ohio Co., West Virginia, (was VA) - Indications are that she went by the name "Jane." It is possible she may have been the daughter of James Law who came to Wayne Twp., Noble County, OH in 1809 and was the father of 12 children. Jane evidently could not write, as in 1822 she signed "with her mark" a deed, pertaining to the sale of her deceased father-in-law's property.1 |
Marriage* | 26 December 1811 | She married David Delong, son of George Delong and Elizabeth "Jane" Ward, on 26 December 1811 at Cambridge, Guernsey Co., Ohio, Their marriage was performed by a Joseph DeLong (possibly David's brother?). The marriage record states that both David and Jane were "of Richland Township."1 |
