Obituary17 July 1984 His obituary: on 17 July 1984 at The Herald Record, West Union, Doddridge Co., West Virginia, Albert Thomas Ash 64, 39108 Brookfield Ave Lisbon Ohio, formerly of Doddridge County, died 6 pm Saturday, July 7 in Salem Community Hospital, following a two year illness. He was born Dec 13, 1919 at Ashley, a son of the late Asbury F and Lula Olive Swiger Ash. He married the former Ida Neill Bates March 29, 1941, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters; Debra Lyons, Sue Parrish, and Cecelia Coffman, all of Lisbon, and Rita Hughes of Oakfield, NY. Two sons; Albert L Ash, Massillon, O. and Denzil K Ash, Salinesville, O. Three sisters; Luella Hester, Newton Falls, O. Junell Lyon, Weirton, and Luetta Goodrich, Windham, O. and 11 grandchildren. Two brothers and 1 sister preceeded him in death. He was a member of the former Ashley Christian Church, a navy Veteran of WWII and was a member of Post #4111 VFW at Lison and was a retired Welder for L W Nash Co. at East Palestine, Ohio. Graveside rites were conducted 2 pm Wednesday, July 11 at the Christian Cemetery at Center Point with Rev. Frank Pierce officiating. Friends called at Spurgeon Funeral Home in West Union.
