Ash, 76, of Center Point Route, Ashley community, died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 in a Clarksburg hospital, following a heart attack. He was a retired employee of Carnegie Gas Co., with 42 years service. He was born at Ashley, June 2, 1896, a son of the late Thomas and Leverna Kile Ash. On Nov. 23, 1918, he married the former Lula Olive Swiger, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Walton (Louella) Boyce of Garrettsville, O; Mrs. Leroy (Junell) Lyons of Weirton; and Mrs. Howard (Louetta) Goodrich of Windham, Ohio; three sons, Albert Ash of Lisbon, Ohio; Arnold Ash of Windham, Ohio; and Landis Ash of Ravenna, Ohio; 30 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and one daughter. Mr. Ash was a member of the Ashley Christian Church. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6 at Center Point Christian Church with the rev. Howard Elifritz of Salem officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
