Researcher*6 September 2002  As of 6 September 2002, Charles Pain - cpain4@usfamily.net is researching the line of Mary Gray Ferrell: I have been reading your Ferrell family charts with great interest. I am also descended from Elisha Ferrell through his daughter Mary Gray Ferrell. After she married Josiah Workman in 1862 in West Virginia they moved to Wright County, Minnesota in 1865 along with her father's family (or shortly afterwards?). Their son Benjamin, my great-grandfather, moved to Minneapolis. His son Raymond was my mother's father. (I grew up in Minneapolis, lived in California many years and now am back in the Minneapolis area, only a few miles from Wright Co.) I will gladly share what I have on the Workmans although it isn't much. I notice that you have Mary G. Ferrell's place of death as WV. She died 1913 in Buffalo MN and is buried in Kreidler Cemetery, Marysville Twp, MN. I haven't been able to trace Josiah Workman's family in WV and don't know his parents' names. I am hoping you might be able to provide some clue on this. (do the marriage records give Josiah's parents' names or where he was from?). Your documentation is very interesting. I had just learned recently about Captain Robt Ferrell and his son fighting in the Rev. War and enjoyed James' sworn statement. I hope we can correspond about the Ferrells (also Workmans/ Hayes/ Dragoos) and look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Charles Pain.
