Marriage* | 10 January 1702 | He married Maria Juliana Zimmer, daughter of Hans Georg Zimmer and Anna Sibilla Weis[?], on 10 January 1702 at Blessenbach, Hessen, Germany, (more about Blessenbach), 50.411389,8.301667G, Johann Theis Esch born in Eppenroth[?] in the Principality of Schaumburg, legitimate son of Wilhelm Esch, and Maria Juliana Zimmer(in), legitmate daughter of the late Hans Georg Zimmer of Blessenbach, married after three proclamations. The first proclomation was 25 Dec 1701, and the actual marriage took place 10 Jan 1702. Both the proclomation and the marriage are on the same page in the register. The place mentioned doesn't exist, but there is an Eppenrod not too far from Blessenbach, which could have been part of Schaumburg at one time, so that is probably what was meant. A gentleman living in Eppenrod saw this entry on the internet and said: “Eppenrod” is correctly on the south, submontane of the “Westerwald” (Mountain-Area) and there, very nearly to the “Hessen”-Border, on the border-most position in “Rheinland-Pfalz”. The English equivalent of sumontane seems to be foothills. The records of that place can be searched at a future time (scanned image).1 |
