Rhinehart, 77, Muncie, died Tuesday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born May 31, 1925, in Muncie. He retired in 1987 from Borg Warner after 15 years as an electrical supervisor. He had also worked for 19 years at Goodyear Tire Co. He was a member of F&AM Lodge 433 and was a lifetime member of the York Rite. He was also a member of Eleventh Street Christian Church, Warner Gear Sympathy Club and the Indiana Historic Radio Society. He was an avid amateur radio operator. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly Rhinehart; a son, Chris D. Ransom (wife: Martha) of Muncie; a daughter, Gayle Broadwater of Farmland; a sister, Lucille Purdum (husband: Millard) of Muncie; a sister-in-law, Florence Ratliff of Muncie; six grandchildren, Melissa Broadwater (companion: Brent Morgan), Mark Ransom, Brad Ransom, Amy McGuire, Sarah Jones and Jeff Haddin; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James E. Rhinehart; a brother, Floyd Rhinehart; and four sisters, Ersel Clevenger, Golda Harrison, Ruth Grimes and Edna Townsend. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Parson Mortuary, with Pastor Dave Neckers officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday and 1 hour before services Saturday at Parson Mortuary. Masonic memorial services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday.
