Aged Retired Farmer dies at his home on Race Street
     Mr. John W. Bassett a well-known resident of Cambridge died at his home at the corner of Race street and Cemetery ave. Sunday morning about six o'clock, as the result of a stroke of paralysis, which he suffered Saturday night about 8 o'clock. Mr. Bassett was seventy six years old last November. While he had not been strong for several years, he had been apparently in his usual health during the past few weeks, and had remarked upon the fact that he had passed through the last winter without having any bad attacks such as he had been accustomed to during recent years. Last Saturday morning he came down town and attended Court for a short while. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Bassett, and 8 children, William A. Dunn, Louisana, John W. of Salem, Leonard E. of Pine Bluff Ark;, Roland H of this city ... and Mrs. Martin Wright of this city, Mrs. George H Twiley of Salem and Mrs. Herbert Goslin of Linkwood...
