Birth* William Watson was born At first glance, William appears to be the son of John Watson and Susannah Ice. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wvwetzel/ice/pafg03.htm#5539
http://trees.ancestry.com/owt/person.aspx?pid=42437504&st=1 - HOWEVER, Curt Mitchell points out "There appears to be a lot of errors/inconsistencies in the Watson info. I had seen the Ice connection, but I think that the Watson/Ice line is different. It looks like that William was in Preston, Va at the same time the Watson/George line were in Tyler, Va. The Ice line appears to be missing Anna and Simon George, though they could fall between Jacob and William and William and David. The internet and Ancestry/One World Tree Dates don't match up, I think about three Watson lines are commingled. One World has both William and Jane dying before all their children were born, and some of their children born before the parents. Looking at the family trees submitted, I wonder if the correct wife for the Watson (Ice line) is Jane Patton not George. The 1830 and 1840 censuses are a little help, but all the ages don't match up, but I think there is more evidence there for keeping the two lines seperate. The best data I have is the link between Anna Watson/Jane George/Margaret George in Tyler cty census, and the liklihood of Simon George Watson being Anna's brother, married by the same minister in the same place within a few years of each other. I hope that I can do some research on deeds/wills/etc. that might firm up some connections on the Tyler county end.
Marriage*9 September 1821 He married Jane George, daughter of William George and Margaret (__________), on 9 September 1821 They had three children - Ann born 1822 who was a blind girl and never married, then two sons. It is to be noted that Ann did not give specific citation to Ann being blind, instead saying "I'm working from Mrs. Catherine Fedorchek's work on the George Family." Curt Mitchell has found that Ann did marry.1
