| Will* | 8 May 1813 | Elizabeth Dop left a will on 8 May 1813; Her will (in file 009-6 at the Saratoga County Courthouse) names none of the older children. For a while this prompted me [Barry Wood] to assume, erroneously, that she was William's second wife and not the mother of the older children. Evidently Elizabeth simply wanted her estate devoted to her two spinster daughters. She probably thought that her grown and married sons and daughter could take care of themselves; Peter and Henry were over 50 when their mother wrote her will on 8 May 1813. As it turned out, Eve did not survive her mother. She passed away in the winter of 1817-1818 (admon. 23 Jan 1818).
