Elizabeth married David Epler, only lived a few years and left one son, David, who went to California in his early manhood, and was henceforth lost to all his relatives. 
Marriage*3 March 1831 David Epler married Rachel R Johnson, daughter of Thomas Johnson and Hannah (__________), on 3 March 1831 at Putnam Co., Indiana.1 
Deed*8 May 1837 David Epler sold land on 8 May 1837 at Deed Book F (SLC 1315555) Page 190-191, Putnam Co., Indiana:      This indenture made this eighth day of May one thousand eight Hundred and thirty seven between David Epler and Rachel his wife And Nancy Hill, heirs of Thomas Johnson, dec’d of the one part and Stacey Reeves of Putnam County and State of Indiana of the other part witnessed that the said part of the first part and inconsideration of the sum of one hundred dollars current money of the United States of to them in hand paid the receipt of whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Stacey Reeves his heirs and assigns forever their undivided interest in a certain tract or parcel of said _____ lying and being in the southeast quarter of section twenty seven in township fifteen north of range four west to have and to hold the said tract or parcel Of land with all the appurtenances there unto belonging unto the said Stacey Reeves his heirs and assigns, to his only proper use, benefit and behalf forever

     and the said party of the first part do covenant and agree with the said Stacey Reeves and his heirs and assigns that the premises hereby bargained and sold now are and forever here after shall be and remain free and clear of and from all right and title of dower or other encumbrances whatsoever and that they the said part of the first part will and their heirs, executors and and [sic] adminststators shall warrant and forever defend their interest in said tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances there unto belonging unto the said Stacey Reeves and his heirs and assigns against all and every person or persons Whatsoever lawfully claiming or claim the same.

Census1850*1850 He appeared on the 1850 census as the head of household, pg 107 #702-716, Cass Co., Illinois, along with Rachel R Johnson, Joseph A Epler, Nancy A Epler, James M Epler, William F Epler, Jacob B or A Epler and Louisa R Epler . His info on the census included Epler, David 46 b.IN farmer $15,000. 
Census1860*1860 David Epler appeared on the 1860 census as the head of household, pg 88 #610-610, Virginia, Cass Co., Illinois, along with Rachel R Johnson, William F Epler, Jacob B or A Epler and Louisa R Epler . His info on the census included Epler, David 55 b.IN farmer $45,170-$6,300. 
Census1870*1870 David Epler appeared on the 1870 census as the head of household, sht 8 pg 415b #49-50, Monroe, Cass Co., Illinois, along with Rachel R Johnson and William F Epler . His info on the census included Epler, David 66 b.IN farmer $12000-$3200. 
(Witness) Event-Misc29 December 1871 David Epler was mentioned in an event involving Joseph G Johnson on 29 December 1871 at Henderson Co., Illinois; David Epler of Morgan Co IL and Asahel Johnson of Henderson Co IL made a $30,000 bond 29 Dec 1871 as conservators of Joseph Johnson because of lunacy.2

     While checking burial records of Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville, Illinois, Florence Hutchison found that on Oct. 4, 1878, four Epler bodies were removed from Greenwood cemetery and interred in Lot 55 of Section G in Diamond Grove Cemetery. David Epler, one of those moved, was born in Indiana in 1804, settled in Morgan County in 1831, and died in 1877.
