Occupation*11 January 1819 Mead Jarvis (1774-1844) was He was a Justice of the Peace at this time, per an indenture made between John Clark (wife Elizabeth) and David Say, both of Kirkwood (pg 582 Deed Book G). He also witnessed this indenture. Also, on pg 342 28 Dec 1818, he was also both witness (with brother William) and JP for indenture between Henry Gregre (wife Elizabeth) and William Frizel (wife Rebeckah) both of Kirwood twp. on 11 January 1819 at Kirkwood Twnshp, Belmont Co., Ohio.1

(MentionedIn) Probate12 March 1821 He was mentioned in a probate of James Spear on 12 March 1821 at Belmont Co., Ohio. as an appraiser; B-199 Spear, James L/A,12 Mar 1821, Robert Spear, admr., $400 bond, John Jarves and Andrew Foreman, securiitiers; appr: William Jarves, William Bratton, and Mead Jarves, sgn: 21 Mar 1821 Ellis.3 
Census*1827 Mead Jarvis (1774-1844) appeared on the census of 1827 at Belmont Co., Ohio; Jarvises listed are Philip Sr & Jr, Mead, and William. There is also a John Jarvin which is probably a typo for Jarvis.4 
Occupationbetween 1835 and 1843 He and William Jarvis (1788-1866) were Caldwell's 1880 of Belmont & Jefferson Counties pg 363: Mead & Wm Jarvis also sold dry good & groceries from 1835-1843 during which time Wm Jarvis kept the post office. between 1835 and 1843. 
Note*22 June 1835 Note(s): on 22 June 1835 at Belmont Co., Ohio, Journal G pg 327 - Lewis Foreman by Wm Foreman his guardian vs Lewis Foreman et al: This day comes the petition by his attorney and the defendants viz John McMahon the attorney and by consent the defendants have gave to withdraw their anser: thereupon on motion of petitioner by his counsel the court order that James Shepherd, Bazsel Ridgeway and Mead Jarvis being first duly sworn do upon actual view of the premises make a first valuation of the premesis disenbed in the said petiton and that they make report under their hand such valuation to the next term of this court and this case is continued.

     In the name of God Amen, I, Mead Jarvis of the County of Belmont and State of Ohio being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby to the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence, do therefore publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say:
     1st and principally, I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried and after the expenses of my last sickness and burial and debts and paid and (___), I bequeath to my dearly beloved wife, all the beds and bedding which I possess, also the balance of all my personal property now (___) from execution (___) and devise to my wife one hundred and seventy five dollars to be paid (___) of her third of a forty acre lot of land in the Tuscawaras County Ohio which is (___) (___Baine) and Joshua Harshaw, which may be referred to an article (___) the parties and for this when the last payment shall be duly paid (___) shall make a good and sufficient deed for the same.
     Also that my wife shall hold her third of these eighty acres lots of land in Tuscawaras County Ohio (___) held subject to any execution and judgement in favor of Johnson and Goshon (___).
     Also I wish my executors to sell the three lots of land (___) and after deducting my wife's thirds to appropriate the balance to satisfy such judgment or execution as held by Johnson and Goshon as far as it will go. (___ more about the land that's difficult to read __)
     I give to my son Nathan Jarvis one dollar. (___ more unreadable ___) balance that it shall be equally divided among my two sons and daughter, William Jarvis, Jesse Jarvis, and Harriett Rollins.
     Lastly I hereby constitute and appoint William Jarvis and Jesse Jarvis of the county of Belmont and the State of Ohio to be the executors of this my last will and testament revoking and nullifying all former wills by me made (___) and confirming this testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17th day of April 1840. Signed, sealed, published, and declared by Mead Jarvis the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. Death*between 17 April 1843 and 5 June 1843 He died between 17 April 1843 and 5 June 1843 at Belmont Co., Ohio, Between will date and sale of land by heirs. 
Burial* He was buried at Sewellsville M.E. Church Cemetery, Sewellsville, Belmont Co., Ohio, Cemetery assumed since member of that church, however, tombstone inscriptions published 1969 do not show him. 
Deed5 June 1843  On 5 June 1843 at Deed book 28 pg 476, Belmont Co., Ohio: Nancy Jarvis (of Belmont) wife and widow of Mead Jarvis deceased, William Jarvis and wife Lydia (of Belmont), Jesse & wife Margaret Ann (of Belmont), Nathan & wife Mary Ann (of Tuscawaras), and Harriet Rollings (of Tuscawaras) sell 3 lots to Leander J Dallas for $700 (SLC 875945). Nancy used mark, the rest signed.
