CAUTION John M Marshall has the following CAUTIONARY INFORMATION: Work on in SLC from these clues found online. Get copy to confirm.
Proof of parentage: 1847, 9 Mar. - Hardin Co Deed Bk pg 342: Commissioner's deed identifies heirs of Mark 1766 Marshall, dec'd 1823, which includes the children of John 1789, who is also dec'd. This identifies John 1789 as the son of Mark 1766.
Note - John W., Daniel W. and Colemore S. are presented as the children of John & Margaret and are named, 1853, as heirs to John; however, they may be the children of John's dec'd brother Mark and his wife Mary Wadley who were dec'd before 1847.
CAUTION* John M Marshall has the following CAUTIONARY INFORMATION: Is the John Marshall who died in Hardin Co with a wife Margaret the right John and Margaret? Ben Marshall at http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=bmarsh1999&id=I30 doesn't show a daughter Elizabeth.
CAUTION John M Marshall has the following CAUTIONARY INFORMATION: Supposedly related to Rev John Marshall the Episcopal Bishop. Is he the same person as the Chief Justice who was born in Fauquier County, Virginia on September 24, 1755. Some have the Chief Justice as John M's grandfather through his son Thomas, but that is not accurate because Thomas's son married Mary Walters Ambler. I have yet to find a Rev John Marshall. Besides, what is my source for "Rev"? Source #1100 (daughter's record) just says "famous John Marshal."
Birth*1776 He was born in 1776 someone on Ancestry has him born 24 Sep 1755 in Germantown, Fauquier, Virginia which seems to early. That person's parents are shown as Thomas Marshall (son of another John) and Mary Randolph Keith.
