UNDERWOOD of Maysville, Mason Co., KY and of Tyler Co., WV (son of Isaac, above), b. 1 May 1780, possibly in New Castle Co., DE(?); 1st(?) m. 17 Nov 1802 to Lucy POINDEXTER; 2nd(?) m. 23 May 1805 in DE to Mary Hannah WILLIS (b. 19 Oct 1780 in DE; she d. 29 Nov 1869 in Tyler Co., WV); he d. 27 Apr 1866 in Tyler Co., WV; both he and his wife are bur. in the family cemetery on the farm back of the house which stands on McElroy Creek near Shirley, WV; he served in the War of 1812; had the following children: Martha, Elizabeth, Wells, Ellis, John, William H., Leah, James C. Residence  Isaac Underwood (1760 DE - ca 1795 KY) resided Raised in Pennsylvania (suspect?). 
Military He was in the military Served in Rev War from Delaware (There is no pension for him or widow). 
CAUTION Isaac Underwood (1760 DE - ca 1795 KY) and Isaac Underwood (ca 1775 - 1862) have the following CAUTIONARY INFORMATION: It is not proven that Isaac (ca 1775 - 1862) is the son of Isaac (1760 DE - ca 1795 KY). There is an age discrepancy so that one wonders if the man born in 1760 would have a child at 15. We don't know exactly when the latter was born, but since he had a child in 1796, it is likely he was born 1776 or so. 
Note Isaac Underwood (1760 DE - ca 1795 KY) Supposedly had illegitimate child in 1777. Is this William mentioned in court orders?

Abner Overfield, John Logan, John Watson Sr, & William Kenton appointed to appraise. bk B pg 192 Jan 1796 inventory & appraisement returned. bk B pg 227 Mar 1796 Indenture binding Anne & Isaac (Jr assumed) to George Wood, binding Hannah to Matthew Davidson, and William to William Ritchey.
SLC 281833 (court orders, date=court term dates) bk E pg 173 Aug 1804 John is bound to Anthony Johnston "until he arrive at age of 21" to be taught to be a blacksmith. bk E pg 190 Aug 1804 order changed to bind him to Peter Grant to be taught to be a boot and shoemaker. bk E pg 283 Aug 1805 Samuel is bound to Anthony Johnston "until 21" to learn to be a blacksmith.
