Dave’s VietNam Sgt (Philadelphia)

We made a side trip to Philly specifically to see someone dear to Dave’s heart. Sgt David Keller was a hero, trying to save the life of Richard F Musto (see panel 11e picture in The Wall pics), and was machine-gunned across his back. When being loaded on a chopper to take him to help, the guys in his platoon thought he wouldn’t make it. Many years later they found that he’d survived, spending 2 years in Walter Reid Hospital. Being “in the vicinity” (DC), we just had to plan for a trip to Philly to see him and his wife Maryanna (actually in a suburb). The visit was short but very emotional for both Davids.
